Direct Entry Master of Science in Nursing (DEMSN)
Overview
The mission of the Saint Leo University College of Health Professions Nursing Program focuses on addressing employment needs in the regions served by the University through provision of a program that emphasizes the Core Values and the Benedictine tradition. A holistic perspective of the person with a focus on mental health concepts is emphasized. Programs integrate content on evidence-based practices, interprofessional communication, Culture of Health, and clinician well-being.
Program Preparation or Alignment
On completion of the Direct Entry MSN program, students will be able to:
- Integrate foundational and advanced knowledge from nursing and other disciplines into clinical judgement, innovative nursing practice, and leadership roles.
- Utilize comprehensive health assessment and clinical judgment skills supportive of a Culture of Health to promote health, prevent disease, and coordinate holistic, culturally competent, equitable person -centered care within complex healthcare systems.
