In addition to his work with Saint Leo, Dr. Kemp is an Assistant Professor of Executive Leadership at the University of Charleston, West Virginia. He previously served as an Assistant Professor of Management in Argosy’s Graduate School of Business and Management, Argosy University Online Programs and Argosy University-SLC Campus. Dr. Kemp was also a Senior Associate Faculty member at the University of Pheonix, Adjunct Professor at Webster University, Dean/Director of the College of Business at Western Governors University, and Senior HR Director for ATK (Thiokol), an aerospace company.
He also co-led the development of the Master of Public Administration (MPA) program at the University of Utah and was the MPA Director for six years. He teaches courses in a variety of disciplines, such as organizational behavior, communication, strategic planning, human resources, and leadership. Dr. Kemp is a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a Society for Human Resources Management-Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP). He has additional certifications in Problem Solving-Decision Making (Alamo), Myers-Briggs, DiSC, FIRO-B, DDI Supervisory Training, Achieve Global (Zenger-Miller) and Lominger Leadership Development Architect and Collaborative Organizational Design (COD) Consulting. He earned a BA, an MA, and a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Utah.
