Georgina Rivera-Singletary

Georgina began her career in public education over 25 years ago. She held classroom teacher, school based and district-based administration positions in two Florida districts and led state project management administration in Puerto Rico department of education office leading directors, school principals and assistant principals with implementing school improvement initiatives. Georgina also holds leadership and governance positions for several non-profit boards, leads Basic Education and Literacy as a global coordinator for Rotary International and is the current president the Zephyrhills Rotary.

She is a member of the UNESCO Teacher Training Taskforce working globally to improve recruitment and retention of educators across the globe among many other community roles. As a former child of a migrant farmworker family and migrant farmworker herself, she has a passion to support the growth of her community, especially the most vulnerable. Dr. Rivera-Singletary is a proud alumnus of Saint Leo and earned a BA in psychology, MED in educational leadership and MBA in health care management. Further she earned an EDS in educational leadership and Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction with a focus on special education administration and policy from the University of South Florida. Dr. Rivera-Singletary’s research interest are centered on ensuring children educational opportunities focused on social justice, inclusion, equity and policy equalities. Her hobbies include travel, health and fitness, and volunteering. Georgina was born and raised in Florida and has lived in Pasco County her entire life.
