Renee Sedlack

Dr. Renee Sedlack received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and her master’s degree in early childhood education from Queens College of the City University of New York. She earned her doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of South Florida. Dr. Sedlack has 41 years of experience in public education as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and human resources director.

She has received several professional honors and awards including Outstanding Pasco County Elementary Administrator (1988-89, 1989-90); Florida State Commissioner’s Principal Achievement Award for Outstanding Leadership (1993-94); Council for Exceptional Children Pasco County Administrator of the Year (1994-95); Pasco County Elementary Principal of the Year (1995-96); Pasco County District Administrator of the Year (1996-97); Florida School Counselor Association State School Based Administrator of the Year (1997-98); and District School Board of Pasco County Director of the Year (2010-11).

Dr. Sedlack is a volunteer for Take Stock in Children and has mentored new principals for the District School Board of Pasco County since 2011 and Hernando County since 2024. She has been the School Advisory Council chairperson at Endeavor and Discovery Academies, the alternative school in Hernando County, Florida, since 2016 and is currently a member of the School Advisory Council at Hudson Primary Academy in Pasco County. Her research interests include closing the achievement gap for underserved populations and incarcerated youth.
