Vanessa K. Wood, Ed.D., HEAL is doctoral faculty and dissertation mentor with extensive experience supporting doctoral learners in distance and online education. She holds a Doctor of Education from the University of Phoenix and a post-graduate certification in Higher Education and Adult Learning from Walden University. Dr. Wood has served on more than 70 doctoral dissertation committees as chair, committee member, and APA/grammar specialist. Her areas of expertise include qualitative research design, literature review development, proposal and IRB preparation, data analysis, and dissertation writing and defense.
She is known for providing clear expectations, structured feedback, and student-centered coaching that promotes persistence and timely degree completion. In addition to her doctoral work, Dr. Wood has more than 15 years of experience teaching English and communication at the secondary and postsecondary levels. She integrates the Rock Solid Coaching Method and servant leadership principles to foster scholarly rigor, ethical research practices, and supportive learning relationships.
